3.      Observe:

·         (page F4)  Pumps CVP and CVS are running and that valves FV_CVPS and FV_CVS are open.

·        (page F5)  Valves MV_H2S, FV_H2T, and MV_H2T are open.

4.      Record the following levels, temperatures, and pressures in the Target logbook before starting the emptying process and after the target is empty.

·        (page F4)  PT_T, PT_CVS, TT_T, TT_ET, TT_EBP, and LT_CR.

·        (page F5)  H2 tank pressure, PT_H2S.

Procedures:

1.      (page F1)  Click on H2 Regulation or simply press the F7 key.

2.      Click inside the numeric field next to Set Point TT_ET.

3.      Enter a set point of 30.00.

The target will warm up and PT_T will rise from ~1125 mB at 25C, ambient (1075mB at 0C.)  to 1545 mB at 25C, ambient  (1495mB at 0 C.).  The target should empty in 20 minutes. When the pressure stops rising the target is empty.

To fill the H2 target

Note: Do not attempt to fill the target unless LT_CR > 70% ! Failure to do so may cause the cryostat to empty and delay the run by up to 3 hours.

Preparation:

1.      Confirmed proper operations of the target.

3.      Enter a set point of  19.8.

Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour is needed before enough gas condenses to be completely full; PT_T will decrease to ~ 1125 mB at 25C., ambient.  When the target pressure stops falling the target is full. Record the appropriate values in the target logbook and continue with this procedure to turn on the alarms.
