Target Analysis for E06-014: d2n experiment

  1. d2n (Samantha) cell characterestic:

    1. Wall thickness: result of a wall thickness measurement performed at EEL lab. on summer 09 is summarized here.
    2. 3He Density   : this measurement was done also at EEL lab. on summer 09. Several data scans were taken at different
temperature to extract the 3He density including the Pressure Broadening (PB) of the Rb resonance absorption
line, D1. Plot showing the fit results can be found here.
                                - 3He density (JLab result): 8.099 +/- 0.032 amg.
                                - 3He density (UVA result) : 7.99 +/- 0.01 amg.

  2. Internal Temperature Test:

    1. Three measurements were carried out on Feb/March 2009:
      1. Transverse pumping was performed on Feb 07, 09 (halog entry)
      2. Longitudinal pumping was performed on Feb. 23, 09 (halog entry)
      3. Transverse pumping was performed on March. 16, 09 (halog entry)
    2. This analysis was done twice to figure out the inconsistency between the online and offline temperature values. The first
analysis gave strange temperature results; the offline values were lower than the online ones. The latter is given by different
RTDs mounted on the pumping and target chambers, hence, their values reflect just the temperature on the surface of the cell.

  3. EPR Measurement:

    1. Approximately ten EPR measurements have be done during a d2n running period (EPR summary)
    2. Old EPR polarization results using the online RTD readback temperature values and 3He filling density of twenty raw data files are plotted here.
    3. Old EPR polarization results for ONLY ten measurements published on the Halog that we knew their running conditions (according to Yi) are here.
    4. New EPR polarization values to be extracted with the predicted temperature values and 3He density including the PB .

  4. NMR Water Calibration:
        In progress......
