Ms. Kulas currently serves as the Assistant to the Vice Provost for Research and Graduate/Professional Studies and acts as the Program Manager for the CIT supported Center for Plasma and Photon Processing at the Applied Research Center, the Navy Research Laboratory supported Center for Piezoelectrics by Design and the Commonwealth Technology Research Fund's "Bringing the Future of Bioinformatics to Virginia." Her first position with the College of William and Mary was as an analyst for the Office of Economic Development and the Bureau of Business Research. Previously, Ms. Kulas was employed by the New York State Office of Economic Development for 10 years in various positions including: Director, Procurement Technical Assistance Program; Industry Cluster Project Manager; and Project Manager for Export Technical Assistance Programs. Ms. Kulas has worked for EDS as a computer operator and served in the U.S. Navy. Ms. Kulas has been recognized as a Certified Economic Developer and holds an MBA from Russell Sage College and a M.S. in Rural Sociology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Ms. Kulas is also a Commonwealth of Virginia Certified Emergency Medical Technician.
