Job Description
A laboratory assistant performs a variety of duties under the guidance of a Laboratory and Research Specialist II. These duties include laboratory equipment maintenance and operation; equipment inventory, sample preparation, data acquisition using multiple characterization techniques, and other duties as required to operate a safe and productive laboratory.
Characterization Techniques Include:
- Axiolab Reflected and Transmitted Light Microscope (Zeiss)
- Dektak 3 ST Surface Profiler
- Hall Effect and Four Point Probe
- Hitachi S-570 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
- Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS)
- Scanning Probe Microscope
- Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)
- Electric Force Microscope (EFM)
- Magnetic Force Microscope (MFM)
- Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM)
- Shimadzu Vickers Microhardness Tester Type M
