Job Description
A laboratory and research technician performs a variety of duties under the guidance of a Laboratory and Research Manager.
These duties include laboratory equipment setup, maintenance, and operation; equipment inventory, sample preparation, and data acquisition using multiple characterization techniques, training, and supervision of personnel using laboratory equipment, and other duties as required to operate a safe a productive laboratory.
Characterization Techniques Include:
- Axiolab Transmitted & Reflected Light Microscope (Zeiss)
- Dektak 3 ST Surface Profiler
- E-pure Deionized Water System
- Fourier Transform-Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR)
- Hitachi S-570 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
- Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS)
- HiROX Microscope
- Scanning Probe Microscope - Specifications (SPM)
- Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)
- Electric Force Microscope (EFM)
- Magnetic Force Microscope (MFM)
- Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM)
- Shimadzu Vickers Microhardness Tester Type M
- Time of Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer (Tof-SIMS)
- Variable-Angle Spectroscopic Ellipsometer (VASE)
