January 2003 FEL Users/Laser Processing Consortium (LPC) Workshop
Postponed to March 19-21, 2003
To: Jefferson Lab FEL User Community and LPC Members
The annual FEL Users Meeting and LPC Workshop that was scheduled for
Jan. 23-24, 2003 has been rescheduled to March 19-21, 2003. The
Department of Energy’s Office of Science has asked Jefferson Lab to
organize a review of the potential scientific applications of the 10
kW
IR FEL and 1 kW UV FEL that are presently being installed in the FEL
User Facility. The DOE science review is likely to take place
in late
May 2003. In preparation for the review, we are organizing a
workshop
that will be held in conjunction with the March 19-21st FEL Users
meeting. This workshop will be composed of working groups dedicated
to
various topical areas associated with past and potential scientific
users of the high power FELs at Jefferson Lab. Hence, we envision
that
many of our traditional attendees at the FEL Users meeting will be
asked
to contribute to the follow-on workshop.
The arrangements for the March 19-21st combined FEL Users Meeting and
scientific applications workshop will be finalized by mid January,
distributed to the user email list, and posted on the Jefferson Lab
FEL
website: www.jlab.org/FEL/. We look forward to your continued
participation in the Jefferson Lab FEL User program.
From all of us at Jefferson Lab and the FEL Team, we wish you and your
family an enjoyable holiday season.
