Some notes on the June 19-21 CLAS collaboration meeting * Attendance was exceptionally high on Monday, very good in the PWGs and CLAS12 TWGs on Tuesday, moderate on Wednesday. * The only CAA presented was approved: Kaon hadronization on from nuclei (K. Hicks + student). * PAC30 proposals: - Larry Cardman is now ready to accept 2 to 3 "low energy" proposals; thus we will not put an "administrative" limit on the number of such proposals (we have 3 in the works). - For 12 GeV proposals, he reiterated that the PAC charge is to examine broadly experiments/programs which, based on physics interest and feasability, should be run in the first five years of operation at 12 GeV using presently defined baseline equipment. - PWG review committees will very soon be appointed for all proposals (by Monday, June 26 at the latest), by PWG chairmen. Reviewers should follow Larry's rough evaluation guidelines above. If they think that the proposal is not in good enough shape, they should suggest to transform it into a Letter of Intent. - Drafts, even very rough and in the works, should be posted on a secure site of your choice, by Friday, June 23 at the latest The reviewers understand there will be many successive versions. Put a date on these. Inform your PWG chairman and the CLAS chairman of the web address for your draft. - CLAS12 equipment will be described separately in a document written by Latifa and to which you can refer. - Statements concerning the involvement of each group to CLAS12 should be enclosed in each 12 GeV proposal (template appended) and a copy sent separately to Gail (dodge@physics.odu.edu) for compilation. - Author list is open to all CLAS collaborators. - Please try to have a "final" draft by July 3rd, morning, so that the reviewers, the CCC and any collaborator may have a final look at it before the submission deadline of July 6. * Date of next collaboration meeting: Unless strong objections are raised within a week, the next collaboration meeting date is fixed to Nov. 2-4, 2006. * The joint eg4 / dvcs party was a great success, in great part due to the extraordinary culinary talents of Raffaella, Latifa, Marco & Marco. Those absent really missed something.
