Burkert 12 October 1996 COSMIC RAY TESTS (Nov. 18 - Dec. 4) (Possibly evenings and nights only) Need: Enough DAQ experts to get started. Shift personnel: approx. 16 days x 2-3 shifts x 1-2 persons per system Tasks: Change parameters. Observe events and histograms. Start and end runs Training required: CLAS trigger and DAQ. Online software: CED histograms, ... -------------------------------------------------- BEAM RUN (Dec. 5 - 12) Need: Enough DAQ experts to get started. Shift personnel: approx. 6 days x 3 shifts x (4 persons in CR + offline analysis) Schedule 3 shifts per day of: 2 physicists on duty (general monitoring and DAQ) + 1 or more specialists for particular systems or tasks + additional personnel for offline analysis as needed P.O.D. on fixed schedule for the week, assigned by run coordinator from general pool. Specialists on call as needed for specific tasks, as determined by the working group. Tasks typically scheduled on previous day by run coordinator. Shift supervisor appointed on previous day by run coordinator. Training required for beam run: CLAS trigger and DAQ. Online software: CED, histograms, ... Interface with accelerator operations: Display screens: status, parameters, ... Communicating with operators Access to the hall Assignment of manpower Each working group (preferably through its CalCom representative) should provide lists of personnel available for the commissioning periods Nov. 18 - Dec. 4 (cosmic ray tests) Dec. 5 -12 (beam run). Individuals should provide the following information to their working group representatives: 1) dates available (or not available) 2) expected role or special capabilities e.g. can supervise efficiency measurements or expert on setting up histograms , ... 3) whether the individual is available for assignment as general-purpose physicist on duty (or should be reserved for specialist tasks) 4) personal preferences e.g. prefers graveyard shifts , ...
