This message was sent to the Hall B Collaboration on 13 June 1997: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Because of the need to remove broken wires from the drift chambers, the CLAS commissioning run schedule for the summer months has been changed. After the July 4 break, all weekdays will be used for drift chamber dismounting/ repair/ remounting, while weekends will be available for commissioning of the photon tagger and downstream devices without the CLAS. Some immediate results of this change are that: 1) All novice shifts scheduled from July 17 through August 20 are canceled. 2) The photofission experiment (Run period g5) will be run in August instead of July. All collaboration members with an interest in photon beam/downstream devices commissioning and/or the photofission experiment are requested to indicate their availability for the July/August runs. Please send e-mail to calcom@jlab.org. The following run schedule is expected to be adopted, pending approval by Accelerator Division: Fri. PM July 18 - Mon. AM July 21 photon tests 1.6 GeV Fri. PM July 25 - Mon. AM July 28 photon tests 4.0 GeV Fri. PM Aug. 1 - Mon. AM Aug. 4 photon tests 4.0 GeV Fri. PM Aug. 8 - Tue. AM Aug.12 Run g5 4.0 GeV [Accelerator maintenance: 2 days] Thu. AM Aug. 14 - Mon. AM Aug. 19 Run g5 1.6 GeV (The continuation of Run g5 on weekdays -- Aug. 12,14,15 -- is contingent on satisfactory performance during the weekend.) The run schedule for the remainder of August will be decided later, depending on the progress of the drift chamber repairs.
