The purpose of this step is to calibrate the data set to a
high enough level to get an acceptable start time for time based tracking.
In addition, any other calibrations that do not require the output of tracking
or are derived from special calibration runs are performed. The tasks that must be
performed for each system are as follows:
- All Subsystems: Copy a base set of calibrations into the map files to a run number at the beginning of your run period. The insures that your calibration constants are isolated from those of previous running periods.
- All Subsystems: Place up to date pedestals into map.
- Tracking: Choose an appropriate
set of calibrations constants for time based tracking such that an inordinate
number of tracks are not lost during the tracking calibration pass.
- Electromagnetic Calorimeter: Perform gain matching from special cosmic ray runs.
- Time of Flight: Perform the time walk corrections from TOF laser calibration runs.
- Cerenkov Counter: Determine the one photo-electron peak position from special pedestal runs.
- Tagger: Perform the full calibration of the tagger E and T counters from the photon normalization runs.
- Synchronize Timing (photon running): Set the relative timing between the tagger, start counter and time-of-flight.
A list of target runs suitable for production analysis should also be obtained
at this step by inspection of the on-line logbook, on-line database and the progress files
kept by shift takers on the on-line CLON cluster of computers.
