Minutes of Regular Hall C Meeting

- Engineering (Paul Brindza)
- Had a good week, repaired the dipole power supply
- Fixed problems on power supply, connectors looked to be most of the problem
- Last week, new ELIN power supply came in
- Replaced several modules last week
- Fixed HMS Q3 problems
- Over the holidays, the tech’s were able to get the G0 transfer line insulated and the outer shield installed (but not welded)
- Polarized target equipment is being tested
- Suggested using 4 parallel wires instead of 1 for the next Gen experiment
- Cooled down last week nicely, running smoothly
- Took 1 of 3 beamline windows out, will be putting in a thinner window when permitted to do so.
- Hall C radiation work permit has been revised for 2001. Everyone must read over it and sign off on the document.
- HMS magnet: good news, HMS dipole power supply was repaired
- HMS Q2: failed, after rebooting, it still complained. Fowler recovered and saved software
- Neutron Polarimeter: 4th veto layer is working
- Showed beam current E=3.395 GeV
- French detector 1 octant finished, will be shipped on Friday, should arrive here on January 21 or22
- Test fit will then be in ferris wheel and put into clean room for assembly by the 1st of February
- Modifying installation schedule with panel for mid February
- Infrastructure work completed during holiday shut down looks very nice, Paul Hood, thank you
- 3 rails for ferris wheel installed. Final alignment and grouting needs to be done
- Cable ends were dressed
- Magnet: arrived in Illinois, but problems with delivery. Riggers were not treating magnet delicately. Also, sow, dirt etc inside magnet.
