Minutes of Regular Hall C Meeting
October 18, 1999 @ 3:00 p.m.
- Engineering (Bill Vulcan)
- Aerogel put in SOS Friday
- Problems with base, scintillator joints are loose
- Monitoring temperature in ARC, looks good so far
- NMR probe did not work, looking into buying something compatible
- Engineering (Paul Brindza)
- Hall C perimeter transfer line is proceeding
- Parts to fix the interference to SOS are done
- Design work for the G0 cryogenic work is in progress
- Plant engineering will be putting in gas tanks outside to be used
- G0 magnet vendor, monthly report says magnet is ahead of schedule
- Test in Illinois on the titanium windows will take place next month
- Measurements for scintillator surface quality will be done by Julie Roche
- Surface scans (detectors) 2-3 stacks left/all done by end of Nov.
- Electronics – being built at Carnegie Mellon, they are 1 month behind
- Report on upcoming experiment(Jeorg Reinhold)
- Remounted Aerogel in place
- Target group cooldown will take place tomorrow
- Shifts are up for the 21st
- Hardware work is done
- Aluminum frame for SOS interferes with the pipe to the scattering chambers at 17 degrees
- Magnet is finished
- Hodoscope is supposed to arrive tomorrow
- Software being used, has produced good results
- Photomultiplier tubes have arrived
- Bicron tubes will be sent to Kent State
- Agenda for Thursday’s meeting will be handed out, representatives are presenting status reports
- Will have 2 grad students, 2 post docs/they will get ready to start shift training
- Greg Smith accepted the Hall C staff position, will start in January 2000
- Will try to get more input on the work coordinator for Hall C
- Helium target is on track
