Minutes of Regular Hall C Meeting
June 14, 1999 @ 3:00 p.m.
************************************************************************
- Engineering: (Bill Vulcan)
- High Voltage Cables have not come in yet, should arrive this week
- All cable trays are in for the High Voltage
- Racks are made up in the Counting House
- Split pole magnet, power supply fixed and up running at 560 Amps
- Engineering (Roger Carlini for Paul Brindza)
- Target work going on now
- Initial loop is working o.k.
- Solid target needs some more work
- A(e,e'p) update (Rolf Ent)
- No work done on A(e,e'p) analysis
- Setting up Monte Carlo's for SHMS and E93-026 (Gen)
- Problems with reproducing Chen's reversed quad tune of HMS
- Report from R (Thia Keppel)
- Starting exercising HMS magnets in hall this week
- Looking at number of magnet trips
- Exp. requirements passed on to Hari, one request is to run at constant current
- Angle encoder seems accurate, enough to us during experiment
- FR for July 1999 (Chen Yan)
- Spiral raster working at 1KHz
- Sinusoidal raster drivers installed again
- Presently changeover of rasters in Hall
- Request Bill to make remote raster changeover system
- What we have now
- Spiral FR (FRI) 1.5 mm at 5.62 GeV/c
- Sinusoidal TV (FR2) -5 mm at 5.62 GeV/c
- Requirement for beam size - as small as possible
- Additional work to be done
- Software control commissioning (Alicia)
- FSD adjustment (Chris)
- Remote control power switch (Bill)
- Possible technique to homogenize sinusoidal TV pattern within data stream
- Correlated Spectral Function Expt. (Marko Zeier)
- Solid targets are ready and measured
- Ladder on top of cryotower has to be readjusted
- Seely said will be ready by the end of week to install targets or ladders
- HNSS update (Liguang Tang)
- Target
- Want 5m
A on 50m
m C
- Will use 200 nA on 500m
m C if that is the thinnest C foil we can find
- BNL can provide Li foils
- Having trouble getting thin targets, but still pushing
- Trigger
- Single Arm SOS trigger will be used, expect fu 10's of Hz
- Aware that there will be work required to make beam diagnostics work at very low beam currents
- Maybe shifting lowest G2 of experiment down to 0.4
- Get more info on HMS - reverse quad mode
- Some progress on magnet design
- Progress on detectors at Jlab, scintillators already coming in
- Next 2 days start polishing the scintillators
- Individual Training Plan
- New procedures for everyone
- Bulletin board down in the hall for everyone to view new procedures
- Ops manual in process of being put on the web
- Proper parking outside of Counting House needs to be adhered by
- Reminder that there is a Readiness Review (Ingo Sick) on Friday June 18 in B207
- Greg Smith will be here on Monday June 21, to be interviewed for the Hall C staff position
