Items of Discussion

R. Legg reported electron beam was passed through the cryounit and viewed to be a small round spot. The multi-slit diagnostic produced clear distinct stripes. He also reported the gun stalk was drooping causing an alignment problem with the first solenoid and the cathode wafer may be cocked causing field emission and arcing at 348 kV. The pros and cons of operating with the conditioning resistor were discussed. It was determined to fix these problems over the weekend. By working in parallel, additional time for SRF and RF tests is thus available. A revised schedule was made reflecting the tasks and times available for testing.

R. Legg reported the Quarter can be operated at 11 and 9 MV/m after the warm windows were changed and testing by SRF. B. Yunn agreed these were the values to use according to his simulations. The cryomodule cavity 4 runs only to 7 MV/m due to window temperature, but it is still being worked. The other cavities work well.

R. Walker reported a list of open caters has been given to C. Bohn, but that most of them are already solved and just need to be closed.

R. Walker noted the FEL enclosure is now a Radiologically Controlled Area, with access covered by a General RWP. All persons who may enter the FEL vault need to read and sign the RWP in the FEL control room. Remember to treat ALL beamline components as radioactive and to work with ALARA in mind when in the vault. A cabinet next to the lower level elevator doors, has been placed as a staging area for material coming from the vault. An ARM must survey stuff coming from the vault before putting it into the cabinet to make ensure that it does not cause an RCA at the cabinet.
