Addenda/Errata to Previous Minutes

• Court reported the Will Oren had said that if we wish to move magnets to correct field errors, then we need to involve the alignment group in the planning process. He reassured Will that this was not the favored method and was not planned for the FEL at his time.

• Lia Merminga talked about the CW beam start-up for the rf system. She pointed out that for the cryomodule after the accelerating and de-accelerating beams cancel, the beam leftover is about 96 uA.

• The three methods of ramping the current are: 1) increase linearly, 2) doubling frequencies (current), 3) go to 35 pC for setup, increase the frequncy to 37 MHz and then increase linearly up to 135 pC.

• Steve asked what happens when the power is limited, perhaps to conserve electricity? Lia says that inevitably the apparent current will be higher because of errors in the phasing of the cavities and she will need to do a sensitivity study.

• Lia also needs to look at how long the rf module will ring because of the impulse function generated by pulse mode.

• Court asked if this application could be converted to a JAVA app? As a kind of rf model server. It was pointed out that this modeling package has a four user license and probably anyone who wants to use it can so a www app may not be necessary.
