Ventilation Hoods - FEL

The labs located in the FEL contain by-pass hoods. This type of hood has a by-pass opening above the sash that is increased as the sash opening is decreased. This allows a more constant air velocity at the hood face regardless of sash position. It is recommended that the sash is lowered to a minimium level of at least 1/2 of the entire hood face opening for splash prevention and protection.
