I have read Mac's lengthy list of tasks and in no
way want to sidestep it. I simply need a context
for discussion. The list is daunting and at first
glance necessary. However, what on that list is
already started or at least committed? What is the
priority of these items? Clearly, the hardware
items must be done, but it is also clear that
software development will take a lot of time,
especially when (I assume) the hardware must take
priority.
I would very much like to have a commissioning discussion
among the drift chamber folks at CEBAF. How about during
the early days of the Dec run when we presumably won't
have access to the hall or beam? I think an entire
afternoon would be appropriate.
Finally, I want to be clear that our group will
continue to make significant contributions to
the effort now that our construction effort is finally
ending. We have a few people who can devote
time to software, but I am not yet clear on what they
will do.
regards,
Steve
