DC folks,
I found out a couple of things today that should be of particular
interest to those folks about to write out new event files containing
modified bank data for Region I. During connection of the signal
cables to the patch panel for R1S6 in January, Rich Thompson and
myself found two pairs of signal cables that were swapped at the sector
patch panel. Our temporary fix was supposed to have been simply to
swap the signal cables up at the input to the ADB. Well somehow it
appears that only one pair of cables was properly swapped at the ADB. The
other pair was incorrectly connected and must be taken into account in the
wire map for Region I. The pair of cables that I believe to be swapped in the
February data are ST3.2 and AX3.2.
I have since reconfigured the signal cables at the R1S6 patch
panel and the ADB inputs so that all is now connected properly with all
temporary fixes removed.
One other point to make about R1S6. You may remember that there were
two signal cables that appeared to be half plugged in and half unplugged
in the sector checkout before and after the run. These two
connectors correspond to St4.4 and Ax6.4. It turns out that the connector
for St4.4 was actually half unplugged at the sector patch panel and was
easily repaired today. The connector problem for Ax6.4 still appears to
be at the STB itself.
