Yesterday at the RUG meeting we discussed how to get started with the
new software system. A document describing it is on the way, but if
you want to get a head start:
You can find the CVS manual at
ftp://ftp.cebaf.gov/pub/marki/slow/cvs.ps
Chapters 2 and 3 together are all of 5 pages long and give a good
flavor of how the system works.
You can find the GNU make manual at
ftp://ftp.cebaf.gov/pub/marki/slow/make.ps
You will be much more comfortable with the new system (or almost any
UNIX code system) if you understand a little about make (<- he states
the obvious).
