Hi Kathy:
I noticed your response to the trip report. My report was based on
information from Mark from last week that you had no hang ups of the variety
that you could not attribute to ongoing SW development. If you are
continuing to have the same type of ARCNET hangup you had back on 3/21
please let me know. I understand that Dave Jenkin's has observed another
type of hang up where all communication is lost (both RS-232 and Arcnet).
These hangups are of a different variety and could indicate some sort of HW
problem with a particular mainframe or set of modules. Please see the
e-mail sent to Dave for further information.
While we are most certainly interested in fixing any hangup problem,
I am most interested in solving the ARCNET hangup problem (where the RS-232
still responds) since I am unable to reproduce this failure here at LeCroy.
Once again if the "ARCNET hungup RS-232 still responding" mode is
still occuring please send me more information. In particular, if you have
implemented the ten command history buffer, it would nice to have a dump of
this buffer when such a hangup occurs. Also all the other suggestions in
our trip report may be of use in helping us solve the problem.
