I rlogin'ed back into rpi. I ran the gsim_bat exe up there and found
that it works in exactly the same state as I left it.
Simply put, the executable runs but produces no output. If you check,
the cebaf aix computers produce similar results (for aix).
Since this is a normal situation I'll not expand any further.
Since there are only a handful of people here at cebaf contributing to
gsim development and NONE of them use aix it does not surprize me that
aix is in a sad state. It could be argued that my job is to fix this and
get the program working on aix. I argue my job is were Dieter Cords
tells me to focus - and currently the focus is on the online data base
systems.
I hope it is not useless to ask that rpi strive to take the lead on
getting gsim to operate under aix. I don't know how big of an effort
this is - but I need to be taken out of the loop. I can only
realistically be reponsible for the tree at cebaf proper.
again - it is important that rpi by attached to the proper mailing
lists: clas_gsim and egn_calcom.
Since cebaf's aix systems seem to be behind rpi I think there will be A
LOT OF PROBLEMS building programs at cebaf and ftp'ing them back to rpi.
There is a complete tree at (including facility to create a development
env for sun and hp computers) rpi so complete development is very
possible.
