Hi Sandy,

here is a short answer to your suggestions/questions:

1. The /work/clas directory and its files should be kept until an equivalent
space is made available on the file server.

2. I can see that Clas users mainly use the SUN and IBM clusters in preparation
of jobs to be run on the SUN and IBM batch farms; and not so much the CHDR
cluster.

3. It is probably a good idea to include CLAS02 and CLAS72 in CUE:

CLAS02 (evt processing): to be coordinated with Will Brooks &
Bogdan Niczyporuk
CLAS72 (electronics tests): to be coordinated with James Muguira

4. I think the Computer Center has to solve a problem regarding disk quota
allocations for large data sets on the file server or in some work space:
Can a large disk quota be assigned to a group of people, e.g using ACLs ?
Do we need disk quotas ? Or are there other methods of allocating disk
space to a group like Clas ?

5. If the disk quota problem is solved, we don't need 'clas' subgroups like
'clasesc' or special owners/accounts like 'egn'. Data for a specific
subgroup can be kept in a specific subdirectory. This leads to the next
question: Can a disk quota be assigned to a particular subdirectory ?

I hope this gets us moving in the right direction, Dieter
