<bold>SUBJECT: Summer and Fall programs at Jefferson Lab
</bold>Opportunities for undergraduate students to work at Jefferson
Lab
during the coming Summer and Fall are described below.
<bold>PLEASE NOTE THE SHORT DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION
</bold>Please inform interested students at your institution.
1. Who may apply: U. S. citizens and permanent resident aliens who
are undergraduate students and who will be graduated no earlier than
December, 1998.
2. How to apply: Please download the U.P.R. application at:
http://www.jlab.org/services/pced/upr/uprhome.html
(or, an NSF-REU application may be substituted)
3. How many openings will exist:
a. Three or more full time (40 hours per week) co-op positions
will be awarded for the Fall, 1998 semester. Those students will
receive a $300 per week stipend which is to cover all living and
travel costs. A one-time round trip may be paid for students
coming from a distance greater than 50 miles.
b. As many as eight students may join this program by
working for eight full weeks in the Summer and 16 half-weeks (20 hours
per week) in Fall, 1998. Such students will be paid $300 per week
for the 16 Fall weeks but will receive no stipend throughout the
Summer.

1998.
