Re: Potential Trouble with DOE Funding
The improvements in DOE science funding you may have been hearing about
are in jeopardy.
I suggest that you write to the Senate and House Appropriations
Committees
urging them to support FULL FUNDING OF THE DOE'S SCIENCE PROGRAMS IN
ITS OFFICE OF ENERGY RESEARCH. Send your letter to the Chair and
Ranking
Minority member of both Appropriations Committees with copies to their
counterparts on the Energy and Water Subcommittees (addresses below).
In addition to the above key point you should:
1) Say you are a scientist (naming your institution) and that you
do your research at a DOE facility,
2) Say why this is a national issue: Energy Research programs in
the DOE fund major facilities used by over 15,000 U.S. scientists like
yourself who are from institutions OUTSIDE THE DOE,
3) Close by repeating the key point.
Send copies to your own Representative and Senators asking them to
help
ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE ON THE APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEES.
