POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
TRIANGLE UNIVERSITIES NUCLEAR LABORATORY
DUKE UNIVERSITY
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position
in experimental nuclear physics at TUNL. The appointment will be for
one year initially, starting in the fall 1997, and will have the possibility
of renewal for one or two additional years, depending on the availability
of funds.
The Research Associate will work with the TUNL group on electron-scattering
experiments at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility in
Newport News, VA and at the Bates Accelerator Laboratory at MIT. The
primary research focus will be on the use of electromagnetic probes to study
the structure of nucleons and few-body systems. In addition, the Associate
will participate in neutron-scattering experiments at TUNL which study
reaction dynamics and the nucleon-nucleon interaction in few-nucleon systems.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in nuclear or particle physics. Preference
will be given to candidates with experience in electron scattering
measurements and with a solid background in data acquisition hardware
and software. The deadline for applications is November 1, 1997. Applicants
should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications and a brief
statement of research interests and should have three letters of reference
sent to:
