The Department of Physics & Astronomy invites applications
for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant or Associate
Professor level.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a field which
will enrich and enhance our existing strengths in one or
more of the following fields: astrophysics, condensed matter physics,
medical physics, nuclear physics, and theory. She or he will be
responsible for creation and leadership of a strong research
group involving graduate students, and to the extent possible,
undergraduate students. They must also have a strong academic record,
show exceptional promise for independent research and be committed
to graduate and undergraduate physics instruction.
The position will commence July 1, 1998. Salary will depend on
qualifications and experience.
