Dear Colleagues,

The next full meeting of the Hall A Collaboration is scheduled for
2, 3, and 4 April (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). The following
activities are tentatively scheduled:

o working-group sessions
- third arm detectors (Brash, Jans)
- physics at 8 GeV and beyond (Huber, Petratos, and Hyde-Wright)
- Hall A Data Analysis
o equipment reports
- polarized 3He target
- compton polarimeter
- moller polarimeter
o experiment reports
- E89-003 and E89-033
- E91-026
- VCS experiment
- HAPPEX
o a report from the Charter Review Committee (Hyde-Wright, Meziani, Roos)
o A reception
o everyone's favorite, the Hall A business meeting

For this meeting there will be fewer working-group sessions. Many
people had complained that it was impossible to go to all the
interesting talks due to many sessions in parallel.

The session on physics at and above 8 GeV is particularly important,
as preparation for the workshop to take place at JLab in July. A
message has already been sent by the organizers; everyone is urged to
participate and contribute --- we need to make our needs, desires, and
goals known at the summer workshop! If you have something to
contribute, please contact one of the organizers!

The Third-Arm Session is being held due to the large number of
third-arm detector projects in Hall A, and the apparent high interest
in experiments using these detectors. We hope that this session will
generate some collaboration between the various groups --- it is
difficult to logistically support five or six independent third-arm
test stands.

Now that three experiments are fully into the data-analysis stage, it
seems like a good time to have some discussions about the data
analysis suite, namely how well is it working, where is it headed, and
what improvements would people like to see.

You will soon be receiving messages from the organizers of these
sessions, inviting participation. Working-group convenors are
responsible for scheduling the talks within a session.

A final note: the CC decided that we'd like to have a "real" reception
this time around. JLab cannot provide funds for "quality beverages"
so we are asking attendees to contribute five dollars per person to
attend the reception. An attempt will be made to make it worth your
money!
