Schedule and (preliminary) progress report

Dear g5 people:
To take the last subject first, there is very little progress to date with
the tagger commissioning, because we just got beam at 3:30 am and it was
mis-steered, as near as we can tell. After some work this morning, we
measured a tagger efficiency for the top quarter of the focal plane (the
easy part) of 92-93%. Then the accelerator crashed--we were told it is a
"serious problem." I hope we're back in another hour, but who knows?

At yesterday's scheduling meeting, a total of 25 people were assigned to
the 24 shifts from August 28 to Sept 5 (4 to a shift). If you don't know
what your shift schedule is, you're probably on owl shift. In addition, a
small group-3- will do off-line analysis, to keep us up to date. If you will
be at JLab during this period and were not at yesterday's meeting, please
contact me ASAP to find out if you have been assigned to either of the
above. If not, wish us luck.

Cheers, Barry
