Progress

Dear g5 people:
Well, we're making slow progress, despite the fact that the high tagger
efficiency I quoted last time was incorrect--it is a little less than 80%
near the top of the focal plane and a little less than 70% at the bottom,
as measured by the upstream lead glass. Measured with the TASC, it is
more like 65% to 55%, which partly reflects the absorption in air, etc.,
between the two locations.

Incidentally, the delay in this message results from JLab being shut down,
electronically speaking, to the outside world as a result of a hacker
attack.

We are gradually commissioning things, and still hope to be ready to take
data by Thursday. Still a little too early to say...

Regards, Barry
