2. Raster/Beam Monitoring:
a. Bob and Dave are working on readout of the raster ADC. It's
going well. There are a few more days of software development
to be done.
b. Bill Gunning will install the raster into Hall A. Tom Powers
will help install the BPM's.
c. The raster ADC values will be part of the datastream.
d The raster will be tested during cryotarget commissioning.
3. Charge Monitoring
a. Luminita Todor gave a presentation on the current state of
charge monitoring in Hall A.
1. Presently two BCM's are calibrated relative to an
Unser monitor once a day or so. The current is then
calculated from I=(N1C1+N2C2)/2. This may not be the
best way to calculate the current because these
calibration constants drift over time.
2. It was also noted that the BCM's seem to read a
different current depending upon the beam position in the
cavity. Both of these questions as well as the use of the
VtoF as a charge monitor are being explored.
4. DAQ
a. John, Riad and Wilson have been working on the trigger
electronics and DAQ modifications for E91-026.
b. The main change to the trigger is that the gas Cerenkov
signals can now be part of the trigger pattern.
c. John will be back Sept. 17th to give some final help
on trigger setup.
d. Kathy will make an end of run summary sheet when all desired
EPICS process variables have been specified.
d. Dave will add an event display in online analysis. Bob
recommends using HPLOT.
e. Documentation for E91-026 is being collected from available
documentation and will be modified appropriately.
f. Luminita reports that scalers have the wrong time in ESPACE.
5. Cryotarget
a. The target is in the scattering chamber in Hall A.
b. It's being surveyed. Kathy will visually check results of the
survey when she enters the numbers into the target sequencers.
6. Spectrometers
a. John is working on getting parameters for transport model.
b. We need the positions of hadron arm magnets.
c. Makis will calculate the model reverse matrix elements.
d. Need collimator in, out and sieve slit collimator box position.
7. Detectors
a. Hakob Voskanian will come to the meeting on 9/5 to discuss
the status of the shower counters.
b. Bogdan is in the process of changing the phototubes and bases
on the gas Cerenkov.
c. Some PMT's on the Hadron arm will also be switched.
d. On the plus side, the VDC's are fine. Makis says to remember
to remove their aluminum protective shield before we run.
e. Detector position document needs to be gotten from Bogdan.
f. A real survey of the detectors will be done in Jan/Feb.
g. The aerogel Cerenkov is gone from the Hadron arm.
8. Preparation
a. Need people to become trained target operators.
b. Makis will talk to Kees re run plan, coordinators etc and
prepare input numbers for radiation budget.
c. The COOP will be modified from E89-003/E89-033. Thanks.
d. There's a meeting with Noel Okay at the MCC on 8/27 at
4:15. He's the MCC liason for E91-026.
