Data Acquisition Scientist Staff position.
The data acquisition group at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility
(Jefferson Lab formerly CEBAF) has a staff position open.
This group is responsible for the design and implementation of the laboratory
wide data acquisition system CODA. All of the three major experimental
physics projects at the laboratory as well as numerous small test systems and
many off-site users are using CODA. This particular posting will be oriented
towards implementing and trouble-shooting both existing and new systems.
Qualifications include an advanced degree in physics or computer science, or
the equivalent combination of education and experience. Specific experience
is preferred in the following areas: data acquisition in a nuclear or high
energy physics environment, programming in C, and experience with CAMAC,
FASTBUS and VME hardware. The applicant should enjoy working as a team
member and to have the communication skills necessary to work with a
diversified user community.
