POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
EXPERIMENTAL NUCLEAR PHYSICS
The Center for Nuclear Research of Kent State University
has a postdoctoral position opening in experimental high-energy
nuclear physics beginning in June 1997. The position is for one
year initially with the possibility of renewal up to three years
upon mutual agreement and availability of funds.
The successful candidate is expected to work on electron
scattering experiments that investigate the structure of the
nucleon and of few-body nuclear systems at the Hall-A Facility
of Jefferson Lab in Newport News, Virginia. The candidate will
also have the opportunity to participate in other areas of the
experimental program of the JLAB Hall-A Collaboration.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in nuclear or particle
physics and a strong background in both hardware and software.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated
experience in electron scattering at an accelerator facility.
Initiation of new research projects by the candidate will be
strongly encouraged and supported.
