POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
EXPERIMENTAL ELECTROMAGNETIC SUBATOMIC PHYSICS
UNIVERSITY OF REGINA

The SPARRO Group (Subatomic Physics at Regina with Research Offshore) has an
immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The group's
scientific
program is primarily in electromagnetic physics based at the Jefferson
Laboratory (formerly CEBAF) and vector meson photoproduction at INS/Tokyo.
Further details on the Group's research program can be located in the web page
http://www.phys.uregina.ca/.

The successful applicant is expected to make significant contributions to the
existing research program and the initial priority is placed upon the timely
analysis and publication of our results on vector meson modifications in
nuclear matter. This is a topic of intense interest to the electromagnetic and
heavy ion communities and our group has pioneered these experimental
investigations using photon beams. The Opportunities for contributions to the
group's Jefferson Laboratory based program also present themselves.

Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. in intermediate energy, heavy ion, or
particle physics and have an established expertise in data analysis
techniques.
The position is based in Regina and will involve frequent travel to research
facilities abroad. The initial appointment is for one year, renewable for up
to
two more years upon mutual agreement. The position will be filled once an
applicant who meets the criteria is found. Please send applications and
arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to:
