Two Postdoctoral Positions
Experimental Nuclear Physics
Florida State University
Applications are invited for two post-doctoral positions in experimental
nuclear physics, one to work in nuclear structure physics and the other to
work in ultra-relativistic heavy ion physics. The nuclear structure group
performs experiments using the in-house superconducting linear accelerator
and a 10 detector Compton Suppressed Ge array with mini-orange and charged
particle detectors, as well as at international facilities such
as GAMMASPHERE. The ultra-relativistic heavy ion physics effort is
focussed on the E910 experiment at the AGS at Brookhaven National
Laboratory, and on the PHENIX detector at RHIC.
A Ph.D in experimental nuclear physics is required for these positions.
Applications should include a curriculum vita and a brief statement of
research interests, and applicants should have 3 people send letters of
reference.
For the nuclear structure position, applications and enquiries should be
directed to Dr. Mark A. Riley (riley@fsulcd.physics.fsu.edu), Physics
Department, Florida State University, Tallahassee FL 32306-3016.
For the relativistic heavy ion physics position, contact
Dr. Anthony D. Frawley (frawley@fsulcd.physics.fsu.edu).
Florida State University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
