Experimental Research Associate / Postdoctoral Fellowship
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellowship/Research Associate
position in experimental intermediate energy physics, jointly supported by
Ohio University and the Centre for Subatomic Research at the University of
Alberta, for participation in projects having a common interest. During the
first year, the successful candidate will focus on the inelastic np Charge
Symmetry Breaking (CSB) experiment at TRIUMF. After that time, there will
be more scope for other research activities, while maintaining a major
contribution to the projects of these two groups. These projects include:
the CSB experiment, physics with radioactive beams, and nuclear reaction
studies at TRIUMF; studies of the electroproduction of kaons using CLAS at
TJNAF (CEBAF): polarized photon induced experiments at LEGS; and photonuclear
reaction studies at the Saskatchewan Accelerator Laboratory. The position
will be located at TRIUMF initially. Given satisfactory on-going performance,
this position will be for a two-year appointment, with the potential to be
renewed for a third year, pending funding approval.
Candidates should have received their degrees within the last three years,
and have a high level of initiative to complement their research skills.
