JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY

TEMPORARY FACULTY POSITION

James Madison University seeks a temporary replacement for a faculty
member on a two-year leave of absence, beginning in the fall of 1996.
The candidate should have a Master of Science or PhD in Physics. The
Department offers a BS in Physics and teaches general education courses
in a predominantly undergraduate university of 12,000 students in the
Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We seek a candidate who possesses one
or more of the following qualifications:

1. Experience in modern electronics applications and/or telecommunications.

2. Experience which could support the development of an undergraduate
interdepartmental program in materials science.

3. Experience in experimental nuclear physics which would enable the
candidate to collaborate with a faculty member doing experimental
research at CEBAF.

We encourage responses from recent degree recipients seeking teaching
experience, and from experienced teachers with excellent references.
Please send a letter of application, Curriculum Vitae, and the names of
three current references to Joseph W. Rudmin, Physics Department, James
Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA 22807. Screening will begin
immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Female and
minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
