NUCLEAR THEORY POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
THE FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY
The Nuclear Theory group at The Florida State University invites
applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in the
area of theoretical nuclear physics, starting in November, 1996. The
position will be for one year, to be extended to a second year
(contingent on receipt of funding), with a possibility of extension
to a third year.
The Nuclear Theory group at the Physics Department and at the
Supercomputer Computations Research Institute (SCRI) consists of five
faculty, one postdoctoral associate, and two graduate students. Our
research focuses on large-scale calculations of strongly interacting
many-body systems using both hadronic and quark degrees of freedom. We
place particular emphasis on physics related to TJNAF (CEBAF), such as
the structure and electromagnetic interactions of baryons, and their
modifications in the nuclear environment. Access to state-of-the-art
computing facilities (including a large cluster of IBM RS6000
workstations) and other support are provided by SCRI.
A Ph.D. degree or its equivalent in theoretical nuclear physics is
required. By July 15th ,applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a
brief statement of research interests with a list of publications, and
the names of three referees to
