POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
EXPERIMENTAL NUCLEAR PHYSICS
OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY
Old Dominion University (ODU), in partnership with the Thomas Jefferson
National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab), has established a major
new group in nuclear and particle physics. The ODU experimental nuclear
physics group has built and is commissioning the Region 2 drift chambers
for the Jefferson Lab CLAS. In addition, the group is leading experiments
on the extended GDH sum rule, virtual Compton Scattering, deuterium response
functions, and virtual photon absorption mechanisms at Jefferson Lab.
We are seeking a postdoctoral associate to participate in these projects.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate
in our ongoing experiments at SLAC, MIT/Bates and NIKHEF. The position is
for one year initially and can be renewed dependent on mutual agreement and
continuing funding.
