I am really not sure exactly what you are asking. Do you wish to connect CDEV clients
to EPICS servers? Or do you wish to connect CDEV clients to non-EPICS servers
such as the CLIP generic server or a custom server?
All of these are possible. CDEV can be built with or without channel access
support, although in the older versions of CDEV you had to edit a source file to
remove the code which makes channel access the default service. In the
latest version, that is an option settable in an installation script (as I recall).
