Aloha,
I have a need for remote engineering access into a cdev
system. My initial idea was to modify cdevUtil.cc to use socket-based I/O
which is probably sufficient for my immediate needs (connection to my
control system via a Java applet).

This does not deal with any of the issues that are
successfully handled by other communications schemes such as Channel
Access:
- Multiple clients
- Connection management
- Efficient representation of commands

Is this something that has been done elsewhere?
