We are using CDEV to locate named devices and attributes and not CORBA for
performance reasons. (Using CORBA to just locate servers would be fine.)

Matthias Clausen has experience with CORBA and is knowledgeable about
CDEV, and has given some thought to creating CORBA-CDEV gateways. This
would allow integrating commercial or other CORBA software with the higher
performance but "custom" CDEV. Comments, Matthias?

What features of CORBA are you interested in?
