detaching RequestObjects

Howdy all,

It seems that if I detach() a ca service RequestObject before the
underlying ca connection has been established, the callback data is
deleted, but the pending callback is not cancelled, ensuing in an
invalid write when it finally fires.

My question, in light of this: is it harmful not to detach()
RequestObjects --do they suck up lots of memory? Is there some way
to know when it's safe to detach a RequestObject?

Thanks,

Chris
