!! Hurricane Readiness Status !!
As of 2:00 PM this afternoon (9/5) hurricane Fran remains a category III
storm with maximum winds at 115 mph. The eye of the storm is located 135
miles SSE of Myrtle Beach, SC. The eye is expected to cross the coast
tonight at around 9 - 10 o'clock somewhere between Myrtle Beach and
Wilmington. The National Weather Service stated that while there is a
possibility of the storm strengthening this is not likely. The storm is
expected to follow a track that will take the eye between Richmond and
Roanoke. A tropical storm warning has been issued for the local area for
tonight and Friday. We can expect lots of rain and gusting winds.

Based upon this information Jefferson Lab will remain open for business as
usual for Friday, September 6.
