Schedule+ upgrade, Software reviews

Something some of you may have overlooked. I finally noticed that on the
last page of my "Introducing Windows 95" manual, there is a free upgrade
form for Schedule+. If you use Schedule+, you might want to get it. I
asked Procurement how best to purchase it, since it is $0.00 and a $5.23
shipping charge, which hardly seems worth the time to do a P.R.. It was
suggested that I purchase it via a JLab credit card, which I am doing.

Secondly, I bought the WordPerfect 7 Suite for W95, which I have found to be
excellent. It contains WordPerfect 7, Quattro Pro 7, Corel Presentations 7,
CorelFLOW 3, Sidekick 95, Dashboard 95, Envoy 7 Viewer, 150 fonts, 10,000
clipart images, and more. In truth, I typically only use WP7 and Quattro,
but there are other features such as automatic hypertext creation from
existing documents, a quicktask feature for common tasks you might perform
with the applications, etc. Very good. The bad news is, it's about $285.
The good news is, the Academic Version is available at college bookstores at
a price of $39 for faculty or students. The only thing missing in the
Academic Version is documentation. You literally get a CD-ROM and a box.
But the online documentation is superb, as usual.

Lastly, I also bought Norton Antivirus for W95, version 2.0. Again,
excellent. Amazing what they pay Peter Norton for his name and face. He's
not even one of the contributors! This software has a feature to update
virus lists monthly, automatically over the Web, and detects those nasty
polymorphic viruses as well. I don't know the regular price, but the
academic version is about $45.

Hope I haven't wasted your time.
