There have been a few problems with the cache servers over the past week
because of high system loads. Most are brought on by NFS. For users that
having their farm jobs copy cache files to the farm nodes instead of
letting the
farm software do it for them, it would help if you would use the
/site/bin/jcacheget
commands instead of the cp command. When using jcacheget the file needs
to be
on the cache and you will need use the full path /mss file name (not
the full path
/cache/mss file name).
Example:
/site/bin/jcacheget /mss/hall/exp/data/file1.dat ./myfile
You can also use this command to copy files from the cache to a work
disk or
a level 1/2 desktop linux system.
