Scientific Computing Outage February 27, 2007 Noon to 10pm

On Tuesday Feb. 27 at noon, maintenance of Scientific Computing services
will begin. This outage will continue through 10:00pm. All offline
experimental physics services will be unavailable, including /work and
/cache file systems, Auger and the batch compute farm, the IFARM systems
(IFARML1,2,3,S1), and JASMine (the data silo and mass storage system).
Farm jobs will stop being dispatched at noon on Monday Feb 26, to allow
24 hours for running jobs to complete. All pending jobs will be preserved.
The batch farm will stop accepting new submissions at 11am Tuesday Feb. 27
in preparation for shutdown.
Maintenance includes installing Daylight Savings Time patches, replacing
components in the main farm network router, and adding memory to the mass
storage server.
