Dear fellow BoNuS members,
I hope you agree that it is time for us to begin meeting again. The PAC is over,
and I hope that Rolf and/or Bernhard can supply us with any comments/insight
they might have from either the PAC or the Theory Advisory Panel. As some of you
know, we did have a nice "chat" with JEN-CHIEN PENG on Tuesday afternoon about
our Letter of Intent. My impression was that the PAC considered this a very
noteworthy proposal, and overall liked it. But I'm eager to hear more specifics!
However, no matter what the PAC has to say in detail, I think it will neither be
"obvious rubbish, forget about it" nor "this is so great, here are 60 days of
beam time, never mind the proposal...". This means we have our work cut out for
a real proposal for the next PAC. The next CLAS collaboration meeting begins
October 17, and if we want this to be a collaboration proposal, we need to have
something semi-final to present.
THEREFORE: Let me propose to restart our bi-weekly BoNuS meeting, with the first
one to occur this coming Tuesday, July 16, at 10:30 a.m. in Room B101 CC. (We
may need to switch to afternoon meetings in the future, if that is possible).
