Dear colleague,
We are writing to inform you that we have scheduled a meeting at
Jefferson Laboratory to discuss the current status and immediate plans
for the preparation of a Letter of Intent to the Jefferson Laboratory 12
GeV PAC, to launch an experiment with the goal of measuring the
parity-violating asymmetry in Moller scattering with unprecedented
precision. The date is set Thursday, August 14. The location will be at
Jefferson Laboratory rooms F224-F225.
It is envisioned that there will be a day of talks focused on defining
the key ingredients in the experimental design, followed by discussion
of how to proceed towards an LOI. The discussion might spill over to the
following morning. It is also hoped that we could also set the stage for
the formation of the experimental collaboration at this meeting. We are
excited by the prospect of launching this effort and we hope you can
join us on August 14. Further emails will be forthcoming with a
preliminary agenda and logistical information.
