July 30 Briefs Excerpts:
JLab Slip and Fall Events
Recently, there have been two notable events at JLab involving slip
and fall incidents. Fortunately, both of our colleagues were treated
and released with no restrictions. Remember to maintain awareness of
potential hazards while moving in or around the site. Contributing
factors such as rain, deviating from a normal pace, or movement
between uneven surfaces can increase the risk of injury to yourself
and others. Read the full Briefs for tips from the CDC on preventing
falls.
Property Management Reminder: Removing Property
The Property Office would like to remind property custodians of the
requirements regarding removal of JLab property from the site. JLab
property may only be removed from the lab for official business only.
This applies to both tagged and untagged items. An Employee Property
Pass or loan agreement with another institution is required from the
JLab Property Office before property is removed from the lab. While
offsite, the safe keeping of the property is the responsibility of the
employee or institution having temporary custody. For a full list of
requirements or more information, view the JLab Property Manual at: http://www.jlab.org/fm/property/property_manual.pdf
Summer Student Poster Session
The JLab Summer Poster Session is scheduled for Friday, August 1, from
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the CEBAF Center lobby. The 41 participants
of the summer programs sponsored by Science Education will be on hand
with posters they developed based on their work or research projects.
JLab Colloquium and Public Lecture: Sustainable Energy

global dependence on fossil fuel is among the greatest challenges
facing our economic, social and political future in a colloquium set
