First announcement of EINN09 conference---a message from Michel Garcon

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

8th International Conference on

Electromagnetic Interactions with Nucleons and Nuclei

(EINN 2009)

September 28 - October 2, 2009

& associated workshops

September 27 – 29, 2009

Milos Conference Center George Eliopoulos

Milos Island, Greece

The Conference continues the series of EINN meetings previously held on
the islands of Santorini and Milos in Greece. It will focus on recent
results in the physics of hadrons and nuclei, emphasizing studies of
their internal quark-gluon structure. Recent measurements and future
experimental developments using electromagnetic and other probes will be
discussed in the light of theoretical and phenomenological analyses,
including lattice QCD studies.

The Conference will be organized to generate fruitful discussions
involving experimentalists and theorists with a background in nuclear
and particle physics as well as in hadron physics. Young physicists are
especially encouraged to attend and present a talk or a poster. In the
tradition of Gordon Conferences and Euroconferences, in order to
stimulate the exchange of frank and even tentative information, no
proceedings will be produced.

As compared to the previous meetings, a new format will be adopted,
aiming at a better interaction between associated workshops and
conference, and at an optimized schedule. The conference will last from
September 28^th to October 2^nd (Monday afternoon to Friday evening),
while two workshops will be held on September 27-29 (Sunday afternoon to
Tuesday noon).

Further information and updates are on the EINN home page
http://www.iasa.gr/EINN_2009/ .

We are looking forward to seeing you on Milos Island!

Michel Garçon, Chair of the International Organizing Committee,

Costas N. Papanicolas, Chair of the Local Organizing Committee,

Dirk Ryckbosch, Workshops Coordinator.
